Steamed Pears with Vanilla & Cinnamon

Steaming pears with vanilla bean and Ceylon cinnamon creates more than just a light, nourishing dish—it’s also soothing to the senses. The natural sweetness of pears is gentle on digestion, while the warm spice of cinnamon and the calming aroma of vanilla promote a sense of ease. Enjoyed as a simple dessert or a mindful snack, this recipe offers comfort, relaxation, and a subtle lift in mood. 

Ingredients (organic/biodynamic)

  • 2 ripe but firm pears (Bartlett or Bosc work well)
  • 1 inch piece of vanilla bean (scraped)
  • ½ tsp. ground Ceylon cinnamon
  • 1 c.  water

Instructions

  1. Peel pears if desired (optional, for a softer texture). Slice in half and core.
  2. Place pears in a steamer basket over simmering water. Add vanilla and cinnamon to the water below for infused steam.
  3. Cover and steam for 8–10 minutes, until tender but not mushy.
  4. Plate warm and sprinkle with extra cinnamon, if desired.
